Become a Guardian ad Litem

Guardians ad Litem are citizens who volunteer to represent children before the court, social service agencies and the community. Volunteers are trained and supervised by program staff, including attorneys. To become a Guardian, you must be at least 19 years old. A criminal background check will be completed on all applicants and you must complete the 30 hour pre-service training program to be certified. Requires about 6 hours per month.

Monday July 26 5:30-9:00 Tuesday --- July 27 5:30-9:00

Thursday July 29 5:30-9:00 Monday -- August 2 5:30-9:00

Tuesday August 3 5:30-9:00 Thursday --- August 5 5:30-9:00

30 hours of training is required which may include Reading, Court Observation and Practice Activities. Training is 6 evenings total.
